It Started with a Detour
I didn’t set out to build a travel business. A work trip to Paris turned into a rather expensive love affair with seeing the world, and I haven’t been particularly interested in recovering from it.
Over the next nine years, I traveled to more than 40 countries, collecting experiences, friendships, local connections, and an increasingly ridiculous number of questions. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t just interested in visiting places. I wanted to understand them.
That curiosity eventually became The Itinerant Flâneur, part travel publication, part personalized travel design business, and a home for the places, people, and stories I can’t stop investigating.
This is About More Than Pretty Places
I love a famous landmark as much as anyone, but I’m equally fascinated by what lies beyond the obvious. Give me an obscure museum, an artist with a scandalous past, or a historical mystery, and I’ll happily disappear down a research rabbit hole.
Over the years, I’ve built relationships with people around the world who have introduced me to experiences I might never have discovered otherwise. Those connections, combined with my curiosity about art, history, and culture, shape the way I design travel.
Of course, not everyone wants to spend an afternoon investigating the questionable behavior of an eighteenth-century aristocrat. Fair enough. I’ll try not to take it personally. The point isn’t to make you travel like me. It’s to discover what makes a destination interesting to you.
I handle the research, recommendations, and itinerary design. You make your own reservations using the booking resources I provide, although I can sometimes arrange select experiences through my local contacts.
I design personalized itineraries around your interests, budget, travel style, and pace, handling the research and logistics so you don’t have to. From accommodations and transportation to cultural experiences and unexpected discoveries, I bring the details together into a trip that makes sense for you.

The Destinations archive is where I share my travels, cultural discoveries, and whatever else has captured my attention. Some stories are practical, others personal, and a few begin with an innocent question that probably didn’t require quite so much investigation.
But that’s rather the point. There’s always something more interesting to discover once you start asking questions.
